Peace, Tie-dye & Love

Here it is, the colored version of the hippie monkey.
Can't wait to see it printed on a huge poster for the party!

By the way I take the chance to say that I'm not gonna work on any project for a couple of days because I've got to take care of some stuff.
Also there are some big, and when I say big I mean HUGE projects developing with couple of friends of mine. If everything goes as planned you'll see some serious sh*t.

Hippie party monkey

A friend is throwing a party. A costume party.
She told me that the theme is gonna be "hippies" and asked me to do something for the flyer. This is what I came up with. What do you think?

Got vector?

It took forever I know.
But in my defence I've been busy at work, and with the gym so I had very little time to work on this.
( Also it's the first time I try something like this )

Hope you like it

Stencil style

I know, I know...
Calavera again!
But what can I say, when you find something that gives you inspiration, you just have to go with the flow.
But this time I wanted to try something a bit different, after looking at some stencil artist, I wanted to try to get the same kind of effect for an illustration.
Still not perfect but I think I'm getting there.
Gonna keep you updated.

Calavera ukulele

So, I was kinda bored the other day, and I stumbled upon my old ukulele.
( Yes I play the ukulele even though I'm not a morbidly obese hawaiian dude. )
It's been a while since I played it, and after a couple of songs it came to me that my tiny blue ukulele needed a change, I wanted it to look more personal.
That's why I started designing an illustration to paint on the ukulele.

I thought that doing something hawaiian style was too obvius.
So I went for a mariachi/ calavera style. I mean, why not?
( I kinda am obsessed with mariachi music, come on it's hysterical. )
Then after the outline was done I did some simple coloring.
And because the ukulele is blue I decided to use green and red, the other two primary colors, just to keep it simple.

Not bad, isn't it. I just started painting on the ukulele. I'll post some picture as soon as it's ready.
