Texture painting

So after seeing the short MEET BUCK I've been trying to improve my digital painting skills so I could be able to obtain the same texture effect.
I've been looking at lots and lots of tutorials and guides, but the thing I understood is that there's no trick, just PRACTICE a lot.
This is my first try, not to satisfied with it but I'm getting there.
I also have to try this effect on the penguin model I'm working on.

I can haz aviation club?

A piece of concept art for the animation series I'm working on.
Since I'm gonna make a flying penguin I thought "it's so awesome, why just one?"
So I'm currently working on other characters to join the first one on his quest for the perfect flight ( kinda like jonathan livingstone the seagull ).
In the meantime they got together and created a club ( with cool leather jackets too ).

P.s. The penguins decided to use the antarctica expedition logo for their club, don't blame me if they have no creativity whatsoever, I mean they're just penguins.

Emotive weather

I've been asked to create a set of character for an app it's under development in these days.
The italian name is gonna be "sentimeteo" which is a pun with the words weather an feelings.
The brief was really simple: "just make them ridiculously cute".
I can only say, Nailed it!

And by the way, they look amazing as wallpaper for my samsung gs3!
