So, I was kinda bored the other day, and I stumbled upon my old ukulele.
( Yes I play the ukulele even though I'm not a morbidly obese hawaiian dude. )
It's been a while since I played it, and after a couple of songs it came to me that my tiny blue ukulele needed a change, I wanted it to look more personal.
That's why I started designing an illustration to paint on the ukulele.
I thought that doing something hawaiian style was too obvius.
So I went for a mariachi/ calavera style. I mean, why not?
( I kinda am obsessed with mariachi music, come on it's hysterical. )
Then after the outline was done I did some simple coloring.
And because the ukulele is blue I decided to use green and red, the other two primary colors, just to keep it simple.
Not bad, isn't it. I just started painting on the ukulele. I'll post some picture as soon as it's ready.
It's sooo awesome, you captured this colorful essence of mexican culture (the land of mariachi)
RispondiEliminaGreetings from Mexico :)
Thank you very much :)
RispondiElimina( Btw it's almost done, actually painting the ukulele it's harder than I thought :D )
guess the wood absorved all the paint :/ ,well try to paint it with some mariachi music for inspiration...it won't help you to paint it buuuut at least you'll have fun doing it!! jaja (Cultural tip:here in Mexico we have a big piazza called piazza garibaldi and you can find a lot of mariachi players and also the museum of tequila)... ;D I leave you a song!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JKtEUk6YKeo
